I’m out in Brooklyn currently, crashing at a friend’s house, and I stop at this place called Ralph’s Italian Ice to grab some cookie dough soft serve ice cream. On my first bite I’m instantly reminded of my second home out in Hardin, IL, where they have a soft serve place that makes cookie dough just like this. I spent many many summer just hanging out in the heat, swimming in the Mississippi River, and eat this ice cream. It’s the place where my dad and grandmother are currently buried. Its the place where all my father’s family grew up and it’s an awesome place.
Things are a lot different now that I’ve grown up and people have moved on and the town has changed but atleast I’ll always have my memories of the good ‘ole days. I miss those days…
